The hunt begins.
Albion Online is introducing a new open-world activity called “Tracking.” The goal of this feature is to encourage players to explore the MMORPG‘s open world in pursuit of specific targets. Rather than focusing on direct PvP combat, Tracking aims to increase player interactions and chance encounters with different-sized groups.
To participate, players must craft a Tracking Kit that allows them to interact with tracks in the open world. By following tracks, locations will be revealed to search for further tracks that potentially lead to rare creatures matching Shapeshifter weapon forms. These creatures can drop new Artifact Items and Alchemical Ingredients, which can be crafted into powerful Shapeshifter Artifact Weapons and rare potions.
Over time, the game will introduce a wider range of trackable creatures through updates. The process of tracking escalates as each step increases the chances of finding the target, and players must be careful not to scare off the target by bringing too many players to the fight. Larger groups cannot simply wait to contest the hunters since only the hunters know the target’s location.
