Counter-Strike: Global Offensive developer, and owner of the Steam platform, Valve is kicking skin trader accounts off the platform, according to reports. While a common practice in the shooter, skin trading isn’t exactly within the rules – particularly when they involve gambling sites. These are the ones that Valve seems to be going after.
In fact, according to Dexerto, around 40 trader accounts have received community bans on Steam. These bans took place on June 28 and hit accounts with over $2 million worth of skins tied to gambling sites. Apparently, these bans resulted from yet another gambling site reporting the traders and claiming that they were involved in illegally laundering crypto through the site in question.
A database that tracks GS: GO skins confirms that several accounts involved with CSGORoll’s Supplier program have been banned.
Every single CSGORoll Supplier account mentioned in this document was just banned by Steam.
Using illegal, unlicensed websites that engage in money laundering comes with risk. We tried warning about this months ago.
But it is a new dawn today. Here’s to safe, fair trading. ✌️ https://t.co/tZoZOC7P3v
