Black Desert Launches Natively on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, Announces Upcoming Content

Black Desert, the long-running MMORPG from Pearl Abyss, is now officially available as a native release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S starting today June 26. This update aims to deliver faster load times and technical improvements for console players, following years of cross-generation support on previous hardware.

Players moving from PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can expect a smooth transition, with all character progress and account history carrying over automatically to the new consoles. This follows a broader industry trend of supporting legacy accounts as games shift to newer platforms.

Pearl Abyss also revealed the initial content roadmap for next-gen consoles. The first major update is scheduled for Thursday, July 10, and will introduce:

  • The addition of the Deadeye class, a popular new playable character
  • Ulukita, an all-new and mysterious region to explore
  • Optimizations and new features that utilize the improved hardware capabilities of PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

Meanwhile, Black Desert Online on PC is generating buzz with teases for its next content update, including announcements and short videos across official channels. Community discussions are underway as players look forward to more details, which Pearl Abyss plans to reveal soon.

On a related note, the Black Desert collaboration with Infinikeys is ending on June 28. The merchandise, including a $95 keycap set, has been available for a limited time.
