If you were looking forward to jumping into Dungeons and Dragons Online and Lord of the Rings Online this weekend, then you’re in for a big disappointment as both games have been offline for nearly two days now as Standing Stone Games works to resolve a sudden data center outage.
The studio has yet to fix the problem as of 9 a.m. PST this morning but promises more information as soon as it has a clearer picture of when the games can be brought back online. “We are continuing to work on network connection issues at the data center,” reports the devs. “Once we know more we will update you. As to the cause, there was some kind of power related event at the data center that has caused critical hardware issues and despite our redundancies there are issues getting things to communicate.”
While you’re waiting, you can watch Standing Stone’s full Dungeons and Dragons Online presentation at PAX East 2024 in the video below. If you have time to spare, we’ve also embedded Cordovan’s latest weekly Lord of the Rings Online livestream where he offers a tour of the game’s new Umbar dungeons. That should keep you occupied for at least two hours while Standing Stone works on a fix.
