DECA Games Shutting Down Forums for Star Trek Online, Neverwinter, and Champions Online in Favor of Discord

Published:

DECA Games, the Embracer Group-owned studio now managing Star Trek Online, Neverwinter, and Champions Online, has announced it will be closing the official forums for all three games. The discussions will be moving to official Discord servers later this summer, following an industry-wide trend of developers shifting community hubs to the platform.

Community Manager Fero explained the decision, stating,

“After many years of community discussion on the forums, we’ve made the decision to migrate our resources to where most players are now actively communicating. We want to thank everyone for your feedback, creativity, and passion that have helped shape the forums all these years. Stay tuned for more info and an invite to the official Discord. We look forward to seeing you on Discord!”

While unofficial Discords for these games already exist, DECA will be launching dedicated official servers to centralize discussions.

This move follows DECA’s takeover of Star Trek Online from Cryptic Studios last year. While some players may miss the old forum format, the transition reflects the broader gaming community’s preference for real-time chat platforms like Discord.

No exact closure date has been given, but more details including Discord invites are expected soon.

This change should come as no surprise to anyone as official forums for websites and games have long been dying in favor of Discord.
