It’s tradition in MMORPGs for developers to grant players gifts on the occasion of its birthday, but Elder Scrolls Online would prefer you give it some money to kit yourself for the festivities, which actually happened back in April when the anniversary actually happened. Perhaps that’s an uncharitable read, but it’s not inaccurate: ZeniMax Online Studios, presumably still reeling from the loss of hundreds of workers from Project Blackbird, has announced a 10th anniversary bundle now on sale.
“The Elder Scrolls Online’s 10-Year Anniversary has come and gone, but who says we can’t keep the party going?” the studio wonders. “Starting July 9, 2025, keep the good times rolling with the new 10-Year Anniversary Pack!”
The $10 pack includes a costume, wisp pet, fireworks decor, and 1000 crowns. It actually turns out to be a decent deal if you were going to be buying smaller amounts of crowns anyway, as normally it’s around $15 for 1500 crowns, though of course if you’re made of money, you can buy much larger bundles at a better rate. Either way, it’s worth pointing out what ZOS is up to in terms of its short-term moneymaking – and also to point out that Blizzard has also started engaging in similar tactics (actually, much worse tactics) under Microsoft’s reign.
Meanwhile, Elder Scrolls Online has kicked off the Scribing for All Golden Pursuits campaign, which takes advantage of the fact that the scribing system is now a base game system; it grants a string of rewards in exchange for the 26 scribing-related activities.
Do note that to get scribing for free as a player who doesn’t already own Gold Road, you need to hit level 30 and pluck the (free) quest out of the cash shop.
