If you’re an Elder Scrolls Online PvPer past or present, you are surely aware that ZeniMax Online Studios has been plugging away at shoring up the PvP scene in the MMORPG for a long time. Years, if we’re being honest. In 2025 alone, the studio began rolling out the Cyrodiil Champions initiative, which has basically been a multi-stage series of tests running this past spring and into the summer, spearheaded by a dedicated dev team that has been iterating all the while, with an ultimate goal of getting as many as 900 people into the Cyrodiil battleground at once.
The first such test – Vengeance – was back in March, and now, the studio is planning a second go. In fact, it began last night.
“Participate in the updated Vengeance Campaign during its return on PC/Mac from [June 30th] until July 8, 2025 to provide crucial data and feedback that will help shape the future of the Alliance War. This time, console players can participate as well, offering information about console performance and enabling another segment of the community a chance to provide their feedback. The Vengeance campaign will run on consoles from today until July 9, 2025.”
Players can participate through the alliance war menu in-game; just be level 10 and pick the campaigns tab once you’re in that menu. Stats are normalized, quests are disabled, templates are predetermined, and you do keep experience, alliance points, gold, and champ points (but nothing else).
As a bonus, ZOS released an infographic based on survey results from the first event in March; admittedly, it’s a self-selected group here, but there are some important takeaways, like what the testers actually care most about: lag, scale, queues, and accessibility.
