Elder Scrolls Online teases Feast of Shadows’ dungeons and U47, launching August 18

Published:

While ZeniMax Online Studios is currently reeling from the Microsoft-inflicted chaos of layoffs and the loss of a whole MMORPG those staffers have been working on for seven years as well as the departure of Matt Firor, the Elder Scrolls Online team must still soldier on with development – and that means the content roadmap continues. Up next for ESO fans is actually update 47 and its associated dungeon content pack, coming August 18th on PC/Mac and September 3rd on console.
“A new PvE dungeon pack, Feast of Shadows introduces two challenging new four-player dungeons for Tamriel’s adventurers to explore and overcome,” ZOS says. “Both dungeons feature their own complete stories and in-game rewards while tying thematically into the larger Seasons of the Worm Cult saga. In the Black Gem Foundry, you and your party must venture into a Coldharbor manufactory and shut down their ability to craft terrifying soul-stealing armaments. In Naj-Caldeesh, a group of Argonian necromancers seek to corrupt and control an ancient xanmeer’s keystone, and it is up to you and your allies to stop them before they can complete their nefarious machinations.”

Do note that you have to either subscribe to the game or pick up the $50 annual content pass to access the dungeon pack. However, the basegame content rolls out to everyone for free; it’ll see the introduction of mount swimming and stackble survey reports, among other QOL perks.
“This includes the long-awaited and much-requested Mount Swimming functionality, finally dispelling the extreme hydrophobia Tamriel’s mounts have suffered for years and allowing you to remain mounted in water,” the team quips. I legitimately could not have made this up.
The update heads to the PC/Mac PTS on Monday, July 7th, for those who want to test it out ahead of time.
