CCP Games has officially launched EVE Online: Legion, a major expansion that gives players greater freedom to define their role in the galaxy-spanning sandbox. Available now, the update introduces player-created Freelance Jobs, powerful new warships, and new strategic upgrades for nullsec space, expanding both the economic and military layers of the long-running sci-fi MMO.
EVE Online has built its legacy around player-driven politics, economics, and warfare for over 20 years. With Legion, the game continues evolving to support new forms of participation, leadership, and customization, whether players are lone pilots or members of large player-run empires.

- Freelance Jobs
- Lets corporations post up to 100 missions for capsuleers to complete across roles like mining, combat, and defense
- Freelancers can take on up to three jobs at once, allowing flexible participation even for new players
- Creates a structured way for individuals to contribute to major wars and build reputations from day one
- New Warships
- Sarathiel (Angel Cartel dreadnought): Heavy projectile platform that can jump locations even in siege mode
- Babaroga (Triglavian Tech II marauder): Long-range disintegrator weapon ramps up damage the longer it’s active, with increased defense and offense while in bastion mode
- Sovereignty Upgrades for Nullsec
- Player-controlled systems can now be enhanced with three upgrade paths
- Includes performance boosts, narrative-driven exploration content, and easier control over captured infrastructure
- A new one-click system allows instant claiming of all skyhooks in a territory, streamlining operations
- Corporation Palette System
- Lets corporations define up to three custom RGB or HEX colors to represent their identity
- Initially used in Freelance Job listings, with plans to extend to killmarks, maps, and more
- Fleet Rebalance and Module Updates
- Strategic cruisers, pirate dreadnoughts, and capital fighters receive stat buffs
- Tech I cruisers like the Rupture and Thorax get new battlefield roles
- Remote repair and resistance modules are buffed to change survivability dynamics
- Visual & Navigation Improvements
- Five Tech I cruisers get full visual overhauls with modern geometry and textures
- Map revamp adds preset filters, shareable views, and quicker access to mission-critical functions
To celebrate the launch, CCP is offering a limited-time deal: players can claim 7 days of Omega (premium status) for just 10 PLEX. Two themed packs are also available, one aimed at new players exploring Freelance Jobs and another for veterans focused on PvP and territory control.
