Final Fantasy XI New Features

Some interesting features are being added to Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XI. Following last week’s patch, the developers have revealed a feature that will help players track down and meet up with old friends in the MMORPG, the addition of six more Mog Wardrobes, and the upcoming Assist Channel function.

The first feature, the FFXI ReFriender, allows players to set up a profile with their character details – including their current World and job info. Once their information is filled out, ReFriender will search for friends and offer up a list of individuals that the player may know. They’ll select the ones they do know and then wait for the other player to confirm on their end. After that, they’ll be able to set up a time and place to meet up in-game.

As for the Wardrobes, players can expand their storage system with the addition of Mog Wardrobes 3-8. These wardrobes are a paid service costing $2 per wardrobe each month with each adding 80 slots. Once paid for, the wardrobes can be used on every character on an account. Effectively it functions like retainers in Final Fantasy XIV.

Finally, an assist channel function is on its way. This channel will offer players a place to go for help and get assistance from other players. It can be used by new and returning players. Questions will be answered by players with mentor status.
