It’s time to work your axe off.
Today, Old School RuneScape has released a new skill expansion called Forestry, which enhances the Woodcutting skill and adds a social element to the MMORPG. The expansion is being launched in two parts, with the first part available now. Players can team up with friends to earn additional skill XP while chopping trees together, receiving an XP bonus for each person participating.
The update also includes changes to the Woodcutting skill, such as de-spawning timers for trees and resource competition prevention. Forestry introduces spontaneous events that occur when trees are felled with a Forestry Kit, allowing nearby players to participate and encounter various challenges. Players can earn new items and craft-ables, including the Lumberjack outfit and a log basket.
In August, the second part of Forestry will drop, introducing new features like leaves, tea-brewing, and bonfires. In addition to Forestry, the Old School RuneScape team is working on adding a new skill called Sailing too, which is currently in the refinement stage and will be presented to the community for a vote down the line.
