New World Q&A Answers Questions About The Complexities Of Development, Making Raids, And More

Published:

It’s Monday and that means it’s time for a new episode of New World: Forged in Aeternum. This week is a Q&A touching on subjects such as the metrics of development, making full raids in New World, and more.

The team starts out discussing the metrics they use to decide their development direction. The MMORPG‘s team stated that it’s a complex system and depends a lot on what teams are available at the time. If they have a world artist available, they may redo a POI. If they have the encounter team available, they will do an expedition. Pair that with the data they are receiving from the game and there’s a lot that goes into the decision on what to develop next.

They did say that after they get their first raid boss, the sandworm devourer, out into the game they will be looking at developing a full raid instance.

When asked about the current burst meta in New World, the team responded that TTK (time to kill) was a little fast at the moment, but wasn’t super far off from what they think is optimal and will be looking at making adjustments as needed.

The team is trying to maintain a balance between speed and quality for PvP releases and is definitely working on changes and improvements. Later this year there are changes coming to open-world PvP that aim to make it more interesting and engaging.

You can watch the full episode of New World: Forged In Aeternum below for even more questions and answers including a couple of smaller OPR questions.
