Pearl Abyss Prepares Crimson Desert Demo for Gamescom 2025

Published:

Pearl Abyss is set to bring a new playable demo of Crimson Desert to Gamescom 2025, giving attendees a first look at the game’s latest build. The event, hosted at the Koelnmesse Exhibition Center in Cologne from August 20 to 24, is one of the gaming industry’s biggest annual gatherings.

Crimson Desert is an upcoming open-world action-adventure game from the studio behind Black Desert Online. Set in the harsh yet visually striking continent of Pywel, the game follows Kliff, leader of the Greymanes, as he navigates a world filled with political intrigue and combat. It’s built with Pearl Abyss’s proprietary BlackSpace Engine, aiming to deliver cinematic storytelling and dynamic combat.

Some key points about the Gamescom 2025 showcase and the game include:

  • The demo will be available for hands-on play at the Entertainment Area, giving fans a chance to try out the game’s mechanics and visuals.
  • Demo stations are powered by AMD hardware and Samsung’s Odyssey G6 and G8 monitors to ensure a smooth experience.
  • Attendees who try the demo will receive exclusive merchandise tied to the game.
  • Crimson Desert is planned for release later this year, with versions for Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and a Mac version currently in development.

Crimson Desert is not an MMO. It’s billed as an “open-world action-adventure” game. It was originally listed as an MMO when it first announced back in 2019, but somewhere along the development cycle that changed.
