Signups for Global MapleStory’s Classic World Playtest Now Open (Requires Travel to Nexon America’s HQ)

Published:

MapleStory classic worlds were first announced back in April and it looks like Nexon is starting their search for playtesters. Signups for playtests are officially open, but Nexon mentioned that they are prioritizing players located in Southern California who can visit Nexon America’s HQ.

While most playtests are online, this is clearly designed for hardcore MapleStory fans willing to playtest the game and provide feedback in person. Those who are selected for playtesting will be compensated with giftcards and NX Cash. Compensation is obviously a secondary perk as anyone willing to travel to provide feedback is clearly more interested in shaping the game’s development than some NX cash.

No word on an official release date just yet, but Nexon is clearly taking the launch of classic seriously. Classic servers have been a massive hit for older MMORPGs like RuneScape, EverQuest, Ragnarok Online, World of Warcraft, and countless other titles. Time will tell if MapleStory classic can reach the same level as success as other titles.
