The Daily Grind: How much do you care about getting through your MMO backlog?

Published:

The idea of a gaming backlog is not a new one and not at all uncommon even among MMO players, or so I’m led to believe based on our own community’s discussions about Steam over the the years. I fully admit to buying games on sale knowing that I won’t play them for a while and am really just buying them for my future self. And personally, I don’t just have a Steam backlog; I have an MMORPG backlog. One of these days, I’m going to get back to Elder Scrolls Online, for example. I’ve got an update in Guild Wars 2 to dive in to, and I owe Project Gorgon another couple of months.
In a way, I am comforted by a backlog. I love knowing that there’s stuff out there I want to do and haven’t done. My backlog is a safety net in case whatever I am doing right now starts to get boring. So really, I really don’t even want to get through my backlog! I keep it around for a reason.
How much do you care about getting through your MMO backlog?
