“This Week At Bungie” is no more.
That’s because Bungie is rebranding their weekly check-in with the community to “This Week In Destiny” (TWID), since they pretty much just focus on the action/shooter MMO anyways. Also, this change was made as the company announced a new game recently: Marathon. Therefore, going forward the weekly Destiny blog will now be announced on official Destiny social channels, though Bungie will also occasionally release standalone blogs.
Anyways, there will be a Community Fashion Contest happening to celebrate the Season of the Deep. Guardians are encouraged to showcase their best fashion combinations using five pieces of armor and share them with the hashtag #DrownInTheDrip. The incentive is a chance to earn the exclusive Prêt-à-porter fashion emblem, and the deadline for submissions is June 15.
Moreover, the Grandmaster Nightfalls will be available earlier than usual during the Season of the Deep. Starting on Week 4, players will have the opportunity to earn Exotic materials and Adept weapons. However, the Conqueror gilding node will open in Week 7. The Wendigo GL3 Heavy Grenade Launcher, Loaded Question Fusion Rifle, and Braytech Osprey Rocket Launcher will be featured in the coming weeks.
The Crucible game mode Supremacy, which involves collecting crests dropped by enemies and denying the enemy points by picking up fallen ally crests, will be added to the Relentless rotator next week. Players can earn ranks and have a chance to obtain Randy’s Throwing Knife Kinetic Scout Rifle from Shaxx’s loot pool.
Aside from all that, Bungie acknowledged the popularity of the Last Wish raid during the first week of the Season of the Deep. Players spent a total of 2.17 million hours in the raid, surpassing the activity’s launch week in 2018.
