Throne and Liberty Combat No Longer “Static” Says Producer In New Letter, Reveals Gameplay Preview Of Changes

Published:

Now this is combat.

Throne and Liberty Producer Ahn Jong-ok released a letter for the fans. He apologized for the delay in communication and expressed gratitude for the feedback received during the MMORPG‘s beta test. The producer acknowledges that the initial test results were mixed, with both praise and criticism, and announced significant changes in the game’s development.

One major focus of improvement is the combat system, which was criticized for feeling static. He explains that the team has addressed this issue by allowing attacks while moving, eliminating character conflicts in peaceful areas, and reducing the inertial effect when changing direction. They have also diversified combat options by introducing new types of skills and making weapon swaps more seamless.

Another key area of improvement is the game’s growth experience. The removal (at least for now) of automatic hunting and movement has shifted the focus towards meaningful content play and reduced the emphasis on repetitive hunting. Growth now involves various mission elements, increased experience rewards, and the introduction of party-level instance dungeons for cooperative play.

To enhance player engagement, exploration and discovery have been made more enjoyable, and the time required for leveling up and developing skills has been significantly reduced. The producer assures players that these improvements will continue to be refined, and players’ feedback is encouraged through the “Tell TL” bulletin board.

In the next letter, he promises to introduce unreleased game content and emphasizes the team’s commitment to delivering a better gaming experience.
