Two players from the Gulf region of the Middle East have been banned from competing and co-streaming Overwatch events after they were caught making anti-trans comments on their live streams during the OWWC EMEC qualifiers as pointed out by DOT Esports.
Majed “Alivelol” Alqudaibi and Mohammed “Legendary” Saif recorded themselves on stream making comments regarding a trans caster, calling them an “animal” and a “pig”.
Overwatch’s esports league banned the two competitors and released a Tweet apologizing “to any community members who were hurt by the language used.”
