Veteran Blizzard, Riot, And Bungie Devs Announce Project Loki, “League Of Legends Meets Apex Meets Smash”

Published:

A new dev studio founded by developers with experience in the online game space, known to have worked at companies like Bungie, Riot, and Blizzard, has announced a new project. Theorycraft Games dropped an announcement video for Project Loki – a team-based, competitive PvP game that they describe as a blend of battle royale, hero shooter, and action game. The short video is hosted by Joe Tung, who will be familiar to fans of League of Legends or Halo.

The video also introduces the company itself, explaining its philosophy and how it was founded. Tung states that they want to develop “the deepest games in the world”. These would be games that players would spend thousands of hours on and preferably do it with their friends.

Players can also get a look at Project Loki (that’s the codename) with clips that the video states are in ‘pre pre pre pre pre alpha’. It looks fast-paced, yet still visually easy to follow. According to the video, the game is described as “League meets Apex meets Smash” by players who have been involved in testing the game. Players build teams and customize unique builds. The game is a “combat sandbox” that should allow players a lot of creative freedom.

YOu can sign up for future playtesting right now on the company’s site.
