The War Within patch 11.2 Ghosts of K’aresh will release August 5, 2025, with season 3 beginning one week later on August 12. World of Warcraft has maintained a solid content cadence ever since the start of Dragonflight and the 2025 roadmap for The War Within doesn’t suggest the rapid release pace will stop any time soon.
In addition to maintaining this regular content release cadence and matching the spot on the roadmap for patch 11.2, this also gives us a few weeks to settle in and explore before gamescom. Gamescom 2025 is August 20-24, and Blizzard has said that they have updates for us on the next expansion, Midnight, to reveal there. It makes sense to give this new patch a tiny bit of breathing room before we launch into our next adventure — though the Race to World First raiders may still be at it, if the previous raid tier is any indication.
What’s in patch 11.2?
We have a full post with an in-depth look at what content to expect from Ghosts of K’aresh and the closely following season 3. The roadmap promised a new zone and raid, and we are getting those in spades, with the zone K’aresh and Manaforge Omega raid. There will be a new dungeon and delve to explore, plus some open world challenges. These also figure into the new seasonal rollover to season 3 and the Mythic+ dungeon pool rotation. As the final major patch of the expansion there should be plenty of quests that wrap up the War Within storyline, and even older ones, with our old frenemy Venari making a reappearance.
We’re also getting some Brewfest Updates!
